The 7.5" Gauge
Bucksnort Northern Railroad
The Bucksnort Northern is a private 7.5" gauge Railroad that is located about an hour north of Dallas. This Phase is currently complete with a mainline round trip of 8,740 feet, SWLS train meet facts are below.
1. The railroad currently has 6 towns with sidings for switching operations,
2. 20' long turntable.
3. 3 track transfer table with crushed concrete drive and concrete apron. Max height 90”.
4. (5) 20’ long steaming/offloading bays on the transfer table, and (5) 23' long steaming bays on the turntable.
5. Safety chains are required, brakes are recommended.
6. Water is located at the steaming bays, offloading bays, Rock ridge siding, and the Atchison siding.
7. Max train length for bidirectional operation is 120'
8. Steam engines are welcome.
9. 3 power hookups are installed for RV's
